New Jersey’s only American Volunteer Group (AVG) Flying Tiger Pilot Johnnie Petach was honored 42 years after his death with the Distinguish Flying Cross. Awarded to his surviving family at Macguire Air Force Base in the 1980s. He was also awarded the Flying Cross while serving in the US Air Force.
